Time To Back Off

June 30, 2011 by operationjack 6 Comments

On Tuesday morning, I finally came to the realization that I can’t do this any more. I try and try, but I can’t stick to a marathon training plan. It’s just not in the cards. Someday, I’ll get my chance again. Right now, though, it’s just not in the cards. [Read more…]

10 Guns, Deadly Gas and Bodies On The Floor

June 27, 2011 by operationjack 4 Comments

Oh … my … goodness. I can’t believe I survived the chaos at my house last night. Ten people with guns in my backyard. Deadly gas. Bodies sprawled out all over the floor downstairs in my house. I kid you not. [Read more…]

But tae-kwon-do cost us close to $2,000 last year. By comparison, soccer costs $125. This is one of those times that the recession hits home for us, when we can’t do something we want to do. He really loved it, walking around, practicing his kicks, showing off his moves to his little sister. [Read more…]

Operation Jack Marathon: Register Now!

June 15, 2011 by operationjack 1 Comment

OK, this might be the shortest blog post I ever make. I bet you’re thrilled! This morning I opened up registration for the 2nd Annual Operation Jack Marathon, which will take place on December 26. We had 151 people registered for the inaugural race and are expecting about double that this year.

Register Now! | More Marathon Info

Last year’s fees ($45 for the half marathon, $55 for the marathon) will be available through August. In September and October, that will increase to $50/$60. It’ll be $55/$65 from November 1 on. If you want to race for free, create a fundraising page at the registration site and raise just $250 and I’ll comp your entry. [Read more…]
