This is probably the most embarrassing post I’ll ever make. But what the heck … I’ll do it. I’m going to tell you what I listen to when I run. But you have to tell me what you listen to. I can’t be the only one embarrassing myself!
I don’t listen to music when I run outdoors, but I have a playlist for the hamsterwhizzle (my name for the treadmill). I run for less than 40 minutes at a time on the hamsterwhizzle, but I listen to music. I listen to a wide variety of music. Here’s my playlist, in order:
Hello World, Lady Antebellum is how I start it off. Love this song.
Sugarland, Stuck Like Glue. Makes me think of Tiff. Love this song.
Pink, Pretty Pretty Please. I like the message of this song. I listen to the clean version, though. I don’t need all the F-bombs.
Yes, I go back-to-back with Pink. Pull my Man Card. But I like this song.
This song reminds me of last year, because I think I heard it at every race from about July on. So I have it on my playlist.
I’m never getting back that Man Card with Rihanna, Only Girl In The World. I just like the tune. The words don’t really do it for me.
I really liked this song a lot when I was finishing up my Boston cycle. Made me think about how I was going to feel if I hit my time (which I did) … I knew it would be a moment I’d always want to hang on to.
I like the spiritual message in this song. A lot.
This one is new within the past week or so. I really like this song. It goes good in my ear at the end of my run on the hamsterwhizzle when I’m really pushing the pace on my progressive runs.
And that’s pretty much it … go ahead, laugh at me. But you have to tell me something embarrassing on your playlist, too!

Well, I only ever do a 5K at most, but my running playlist consists of “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, “The Warrior’s Code” by the Dropkick Murphys, and/or “African Rundown” from the Casino Royale soundtrack, the music playing during the chase scene in Madagascar at the beginning of the movie.

I’ll be adding a lot these to my play list. As far as pulling your man-card, I think someone has to be higher up on the man food-chain than you to pull it; that leaves a pretty short list.
I usually listen to a lot of podcasts or audiobooks when I run:
Running With the Pack at http://www.parkedthoughts.com is my favorite.
I’ve music preference is somewhat eclectic. I’ve got a lot of rap (Eminem, Ice Cube, Xzibit), 80’s heavy metal (Ratt, Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard), 70’s disco (love the BeeGees).
Some more embarrassing tunes:
Barry Manilow, Paris Hilton, Leo Strayer to name just a few!
Michael Buble is on there. He is awesome. His songs speak to how I feel about my wife.
Power Songs:
The Touch (from the original Transformers soundtrack – the cartoon)
Anything by White Zombie/Rob Zombie, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera or Kid Rock.
I’m all about the F-bomb.

I can see those being on my playlist. I may take Enrique off but I would also add some to it.
