Three Things Thursday … yay for whoever thought that up, because a) I don’t have to think up a topic and b) that’s a lot easier than Thirty Things Thursday. So, here I go, time to count to three …
* I don’t consider myself a runner. I just consider myself a guy who likes to run. But I still like new running shoes. I don’t really care about any other kind of shoes.
2. Anybody Want Money?
3. Love This Song
That’s pretty much it. Anything else and I’d have to change the title to Four Things Thursday, which would totally blow the alliteration. What do you have going on this weekend? My brother is coming into town to visit (awesome!) and I’m running a 5K up here at elevation, which means no oxygen (not awesome!).
Have a great day/weekend!

Sam, great new post and I’m glad your back to blogging. I’ve missed reading your updates though I’ve not missed much via twitter and Facebook. I am onto a new adventure with triathlons and am raising money for the wounded warrior family camps in GA. I am now a member of team unthinkable with the Scott Rigsby Foundation. Scott is the only double amputee to complete Kona and he’s done it twice. I’m very interested in guest blogging about my new adventure. Let me know if I can be your guest blogger! Yours in the bond, Jeremy sale

Love the shoes! I try to find the older model if I can and then stock up too!
I’m running the New York City Marathon for Team JDRF this year. My son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last year. While it’s a much different situation than you have with Jack, when I read your blog posts, I can’t help but notice some of the similarities. Maybe it’s just feeling like a helpless parent…
I would love to learn more about guest blogging for a shot at some extra money for JDRF.

I just bought my favorite shoe because it came out in a new color. Who doesn’t need bright orange shoes?
I will always have things to say about PCRF and cancer, and will always take your money.

Love that song! And love that you’re willing to support someone’s cause. I’d love for mine to be considered. Im raising money for Relay for Life (It’s my fifth year fundraising and my 7th Relay), an overnight fundraising event with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. This year, my mom has challenged me to run a lap around the track for every dollar I raise, up to 26.2 miles. But I always aim to raise as close to $1,000 as I can! I Relay for my mom, who battled invasive bladder cancer, and my best friend’s dad, wo battled leukemia and melanoma, along with other loved ones. I can’t wait until the day the phrase “you have cancer” isn’t so prominent.

Sam, myself and 6 others are hiking late May to the top of Mt Leconte in the GSMNP using all six routes in 24 hrs around 40 miles. We are raising money for a local Veteran who has returned wounded. We will be donating the funds to the family. Maybe you could even make your way with the family and join in?

I hope to some day find myself a runner. =)
I have a friend whose son was born with Hydrocephalus. He has had 13 brain surgeries and now has life-threatening seizures because of it and his family never knows when they can happen; at night in his sleep is the most dangerous. they are hoping to raise enough money to get a seizure dog for their little boy.
We are having a dessert and benefit auction in a couple of weeks. Any amount of support and donation would be awesome.
You can read about their story on their Facebook page.

Sam, I am running 52 half marathons for Prader-Willi syndrome. I’m Running to raise awareness since this syndrome is not widely known of. I am not a runner but will continue to run as best I can until I complete my mission. I have met many great people running and hope to form bonds that will last a lifetime. People like you and my wife ROW are my inspiration to do this.
