OK, so I’m going back into copying my friend Morgan with Three Things Thursday. It’s Thursday, time to count to three.
1. Gonna keep plugging this, but I’m running the San Francisco Marathon as a charity runner with a unique twist. I’m starting dead last and collecting pledges for each person I pass. I’m training like crazy, because this one means a lot to me. So, I’m asking you to do one of three things:
a. Click here and make a pledge!
b. Click on the share links on the bottom the page.
c. If you have any creative ideas for me to tap into companies for donations or pledges, big or small, let me know! Big or small, it all adds up!
2. About a month ago, Ben and Ava (my 9-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter) were goofing around and Ava fell and hit her ear on a bench we have. She had a cut that was bigger than something a band-aid would need, so we had to take her into the doctor. Unfortunately, it was after hours, and since there was a chance she might need stitches, we had to take her to the ER.
We got there, waited a couple of minutes, and were led into a room. It wasn’t like a hospital room or one of those triage areas in the ER. It was just a regular room, like you’d go to in any general family practice office. A nurse came in and took Ava’s blood pressure, pulse and temperature. A few minutes later, a doctor came in and looked at her hear. She didn’t need stitches! Just some kind of medical glue, which I’ve since been told you can get at any drugstore for about $5 a tube. That was the entire visit. No meds, no prescriptions, no nothing. Just a quick vitals check and a little bit of glue.
The bill we get to pay for that? $722. I don’t know what causes it to be that high, and I’m really not asking for political input. But $722 for that is a clear sign to me that there’s something drastically wrong with the system.
3. Jack’s on a pretty big regimen of supplements from his DAN doctor. Tiff lined them all up and took a picture yesterday. She gives him all of these, every day! Also, the B12 injection (notice the syringe in the front) is only every other night. And of course, the wine is for Tiff, not Jack.
I think I should probably get her a Mother’s Day present, huh?
OK, that’s three! Doubt I’ll post anything tomorrow. If I do, sweet. If not, have a great weekend!

The new design looks good Sam! I dig it! As for really terrible medical bills. I totally hear you. Pretty much the story of my life for the last 5 years. And I have some opinions on the matter, but you said you didn’t want to get political so I won’t 🙂
