Running Down Autism
On October 4, Steve "Marathon Freak" Walters is running his 282nd lifetime marathon/ultramarathon at the Portland Marathon. With that many marathons, you'd think he's done it all. But he'll be doing something new in that race — starting dead last in the field. Steve worked out an arrangement with the race to start at the back of the pack to raise money to fight autism. He's collecting pledges for each runner he passes, likely somewhere around 5,500, with the proceeds benefiting the Operation Jack Autism Foundation.

Pledge at least a penny per runner and receive an Operation Jack t-shirt or tech shirt. Pledge a little more or a little less if you'd like — every dollar raised helps Operation Jack raise money for autism charities in need all across the country. Autism currently affects 1 in 42 kids nationwide. That's one too many. Can you pledge a penny?
