Operation Jack Marathon: Register Now!

June 15, 2011 by operationjack 1 Comment

OK, this might be the shortest blog post I ever make. I bet you’re thrilled! This morning I opened up registration for the 2nd Annual Operation Jack Marathon, which will take place on December 26. We had 151 people registered for the inaugural race and are expecting about double that this year.

Last year’s fees ($45 for the half marathon, $55 for the marathon) will be available through August. In September and October, that will increase to $50/$60. It’ll be $55/$65 from November 1 on. If you want to race for free, create a fundraising page at the registration site and raise just $250 and I’ll comp your entry. A lot of people have asked me about the satellite option, so I’m going to open that up again this year. I’ll have full details either Friday or Monday — I’m working on some ideas to create incentives for team building. For the satellite runs, it’ll be $30 and we’ll send you a race medal and t-shirt. And I PROMISE we’ll be more efficient sending those out this year — we learned from our mistakes!

If you have any interest in putting on a local event in conjunction with the Operation Jack Marathon and satellite runs, contact me (sam@operationjack.org) and I’ll brainstorm options with you. Depending on what you want to do, we can help you create an affiliated event that will benefit a local autism-related charity of your choice.

All proceeds from the race go to benefit the Operation Jack Autism Foundation and Train 4 Autism. And I think that’s pretty much it. I hope to see you out there! Please, help spread the word!
