OPERATION JACK MARATHON SERIES

As part of the 60 marathons Sam is running for Operation Jack, in a partnership with Charlie Alewine Racing, we present the Operation Jack Marathon Series, a series of three marathons and half marathons during 2010. Each race will offer a full marathon and a half marathon and there will be $750 in prize money awarded to the overall series leaders. The races will all take place in Southern California and the final race of the series will be the 60th and final race of Operation Jack!

Each participant will receive 10 series points for completing a race (points will either be marathon points or half-marathon points). In addition, participants will receive the following performance bonuses for each race:

1st Place: 5 points
2nd Place: 4 points
3rd Place: 3 points
4th Place: 2 points
5th Place: 1 point

The maximum number of points for one race is 15 points. The maximum number of points for the series is 45. The first tie-breaker will be the number of races completed. The second tie-breaker will be the fastest average time.

Prize money will be awarded at the end of the series based on series standings, as follows:

Marathon:
1st Place, $250
2nd Place $150
3rd Place $100

Half Marathon:
1st Place $150
2nd Place, $100
