Operation Jack doesn’t require any minimum contributions. We’re attempting to raise funds to help Train 4 Autism continue to grow in 2011 and beyond, but participation is what we’re seeking and everything else is a bonus.
HOW TO JOIN
Pick any race on the schedule and join the team for that event! It can be a local race, or you can make it a destination race. Participate in honor of your loved one living with autism and encourage others you know to do the same! We’re aiming for at least 20 people for each team – a total of 1,200 for the year. You can train for a marathon, and our coaches will help you get there, or you can run the 5K or ½ marathon associated with the marathon Sam runs (if available). It’s all about participation and we want you to participate!
FUNDRAISERS
DONATIONS
You’ll get a free, customizable Operation Jack fundraising web page through Train 4 Autism. Your friends and family will be able to go online to support your efforts and raise money for a great cause. You’ll be able to track your donations and thank your supporters. A dollar here and a dollar there — it all adds up and helps our loved ones in need! Click here to create your own fundraising page.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Operation Jack is basically a two-time reinvestment of capital. Some money will be used to cover the expenses of the endeavor (it's a fly coach/sleep on couches/beg for free entries endeavor, not an opportunity to fly first class and stay in suites). Everything extra, unless designated for a particular beneficiary, will go to Train 4 Autism. Those funds will be used by Train 4 Autism to help develop the infrastructure needed to support anticipated growth. That growth should generate a considerable amount more over the long term in donations to autism-related charities.
In March, I wrote a blog to try to answer the question a little more in-depth. Take a look at what I had to say!
SPREAD THE WORD!
If you believe in what we're trying to accomplish, PLEASE help spread the word! We need to tell as many people about Operation Jack as possible. Follow Sam on Twitter and join the Facebook group. And of course, send people here to operationjack.com!
If you have any other ideas on how you can (or would like to) help, please let us know!
